Thank you so much for being a part of our wildlife family. Your past support has made an incredible difference in the lives of countless animals and the people who they inspire. As the year comes to a close, the request to help us continue this vital work has never been more urgent.

This year, we were once again called upon to help other facilities and their animals that were in need of emergency placement. Some of these included a Wildlife Center that lost critical funding and had to rehome nearly all its animals, an individual with lapsed permits, and we even had several cats show up on our doorstep! These animals were able to find safety at Hawk Creek and get the medical care that they required. Once they were healthy, many of them remained at Hawk Creek but some, like the domestic cats, were transferred to permanent, loving homes!

Among the rescued animals that remain at Hawk Creek is Hootie. At over 20 years old, with a partial wing amputation, he was the animal most in need of a lifelong home, not just a brief respite. With his age and disability Hootie had no prospective homes and we are already his FIFTH home in his life. Thanks to your support, we were able to give him the safe and loving home he so desperately needed- a true forever home. A bird as special as Hootie deserves nothing less.

Your generosity not only saves wildlife, it also allows Hawk Creek to remain an asset to the community through our mission of education. Our wildlife ambassadors meet nearly one million people each year – inspiring the decision makers of tomorrow to be stewards of our shared planet. While each encounter is special, one stands out to our staff – meeting our friend Sebastian. This child touched our hearts through his passion for an often unloved animal – vultures! His enthusiastic quest for knowledge on nature’s clean-up crew is inspiring and spending time with him and our ambassador vultures was a moment our staff will not soon forget! We consider it an honor to cultivate a child’s curiosity and encourage their passion for wildlife.
