Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I buy tickets?
Tickets are always sold at the gates of the event when we have an open
house, but lines—especially early on—are to be expected
at the ticket booth. For certain events (such as the Wildlife and
Renaissance Festival), advance tickets are available in our online store
and at the Customer Service desk at the Walden Galleria Mall. For events
with multiple dates, advance tickets are always good for any day of the
event.
How do I get to Hawk Creek?
Hawk Creek is located at the intersection of Grover and Luther roads
in East Aurora, New York Click here for
detailed instructions.
Can I bring my pet?
For the safety of our animals and your friends, we can not allow pets
inside the Center. We ask that you keep them at home during your visit to
Hawk Creek.
What should I bring?
A camera, definitely. There are innumerable opportunities for
photography and we strongly encourage taking advantage of
them—photographs are one of the best ways to learn from and appreciate
nature without taking from it. Flashes are acceptable (they don't bother
the animals) though exhibits generally take place outdoors.
Dress for the weather. In sun, a hat and sunglasses are a good idea; in
rain, ponchos or umbrellas are almost a necessity. Hawk Creek is an
outdoor facility (there are two indoor-accessible buildings) and the only
cover from rain or sun is provided by trees, tents, and the occasional
standing umbrella. In more inclement weather, expect these spots to be
crowded.
Will there be refreshments?
Food and drink will be available under our shaded refreshments tent,
with ambiance provided by live music and performers.
What about handicapped access?
Unfortunately, handicapped access is limited. We try to keep as
natural an environment as possible, so much of the center contains gravel
walkways and there is no paved ground; everything outside takes place on
hard grassy fields.
Is parking available?
We offer free parking to all our visitors, located in the field
adjacent to the Center.
